This is a point-to-point walkthrough that takes you through the critical path to completing the game. Loco Motive has a lot more to offer apart from the steps outlined in this walkthrough, so we highly recommend that you explore and interact with its world as much as possible.

Part Two: Burden of Proof
- Begin by talking to the fashionable woman in white, Diana Osterhagen.
- In your inventory, inspect the napkin you received to find that it’s written in invisible ink.
- There’s nothing we can do about it for now, so head back to Lady Unterwald’s quarters.
- After talking to Dr Hirsch, investigate the rug on the floor.
- Talk to Dr Hirsch about his missing briefcase. Continue asking about the briefcase, and then the red curtain.
- Ask about the secret society, and how you can become a member. Then, ask if Dr Hirsch can teach you the handshake.
- This done, exit the quarters and go to the casino carriage.
- Notice the red curtains between the two goons and interact with them.
- Respond in any way to be rejected from the secret society (for now).
- Now go to the dining carriage. Talk to the artist here.
- Ask him about finding a new muse and continue to ask about work for hire.
- Return to the casino carriage and talk to the cashier at the right-hand-side end of the carriage.
- Grab your cash and return to the dining carriage.
- Give your cash to the artist.
- After the sequence, return to Lady Unterwald’s quarters and give the sketches to Dr Hirsch.
- After learning the responses, return to the red curtain in the casino carriage.
- Interact with the red curtain and use the right rhyming response. After getting all four right, you’ll enter the secret society area.
- Talk to the hooded club member reading the yellow book, and ask about the book.
- Head to the sleeper carriage, and enter Don’s room through the broken door.
- Grab the yellow book of poetry on the bed, and then return to the secret society.
- Use the poetry journal on the invisibility book to swap them.
- In your inventory, read the book you’ve acquired to learn that you need to apply gentle heat to the napkin to reveal its message.
- Now talk to the waiter here and ask about the kitchen and the doctor’s briefcase.
- Talk to Mr Masson, the bearded man on the green sofa. Ask him about the briefcase.
- Talk to the waiter again and ask about Mr Masson. Continue to ask about what Mr Masson has been drinking and how you can acquire it.
- Return to Lady Unterwald’s quarters and grab the rose petals from the bed on the right side of the screen.
- Exit to the lounge carriage and talk to the twins standing to the right of the stage.
- Mention that Lady Unterwald must have spoken highly of both.
- When their mother approaches them, grab the hearing horn she leaves on the table, while she’s away.
- Return to the dining carriage and pick up the ‘recorker’, which is sitting on the bar next to the barkeep.
- In your inventory, use the recorker on the ‘ear trumpet’.
- Hand over the petal leaves from your inventory to the bartender.
- Then, hand over the perfumed letter to him.
- Once you get your Bud Lite, use it on the corked hearing horn.
- Now go to the sleeper carriage and enter your own quarters.
- Inspect the blue mouthwash next to the sink.
- Take the mouthwash and in your inventory, combine it with the hearing horn.
- Open your inventory again and drink the Rosebud.
- Once you’re in the secret society area again, talk to Mr Masson.
- Ask him about the briefcase to get the storage room keys and then exit the room.
- Now head over to the sleeper carriage and use the storage room key on the storage room door.
- Pick up the briefcase on the floor to the left.
- Exit the storage room and go left to find the twins trying to get into Herman’s room.
- Give them the briefcase.
- In your inventory, inspect the medical records to find Lady Unterwald’s date of birth: 13/06/35.
- You can use this date on Lady Unterwald’s safe to clear the first lock, if you’d like to do that now.
- Next, to solve the mystery of the invisible ink, go to the kitchen.
- Talk to the chef to the far left, near the grill.
- Then, enter the pantry to the left of the kitchen.
- Break off a piece of the cheese on the left of the screen.
- Return to the kitchen and pick up the oven gloves that were formerly blocked by the chef by the grill.
- Now we need to plug up all the rat holes in the train.
- First, use your recorker on the hole to the right of the kitchen.
- Second, go to Don’s Quarters in the sleeper carriage and plug the hole below the light switch.
- Third, go to the secret society room and plug the hole to the left of the table.
- Head to the storage room and use the cheese on the chewed up fence.
- Then, while the mouse is eating the cheese, use the oven gloves on the mouse.
- Now go to the grill in the kitchen and use the napkin from your inventory on the pan on the stovetop.
- Head back to the sleeper carriage now and use the lightly toasted note on the door to Room 306 (leftmost door in the carriage).
- Talk to Diana thoroughly.
- Then, ask her about the wire reels on the table to get one.
- Exit and go to Don’s Quarters, where you’ll find the recorder on the floor. Grab it.
- Use the empty wire reel from Diana’s room on the recorder.
- Exit Don’s Quarters and go to the far right of the sleeper carriage to find an onboard telephone.
- Use the recorder on the telephone.
- You’re now ready to open the safe, so go back to Lady Unterwald’s quarters.
- Examine the locks on the safe.
- Here, enter Lady Unterwald’s date of birth as the code: 130635.
- Then, use the recorder from your inventory on the voice lock.
- After several sequences, you’ll be in Herman’s room. Open the window here.
- In your inventory, combine the broken wire hanger with Lady Unterwald’s cane.
- Then, use the cane on the lost will.
- After the sequences that follow, Part 2 will conclude.
