Anamnesis god roll and best perks in Destiny 2

The savior of bows in PvE? Anamnesis may just be the one!

When was the last time you used a bow in Destiny 2 PvE activities that wasn’t Exotic? You’ll want to consider picking up an Anamnesis, which is sure to rock both the casual and endgame metas thanks to a god roll of Void-based perks.

Here’s a look at the Anamnesis god roll in Destiny 2.

Anamnesis PvE god roll

Bowstring Elastic String
Arrow Compact Arrow Shaft
Trait 1 Dragonfly
Trait 2 Demoralize
Destabilizing Rounds
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod Willing Vessel (Origin Trait)
Draw Time (Masterwork)
Tension/Reload Speed (Weapon Mod)

Who said bows weren’t good in PvE? Anamnesis will hit the ground running as one of the best legendary bows in Destiny 2 thanks in part to Dragonfly in column one.

Dragonfly is often a second column perk, with headshot kills causing the target to explode with Void damage (as the bow is Void). But it being on column one affords for some interesting combos.

One of these combos is Dragonfly with Destabilizing Rounds. Exploding targets will now spread Volatile to nearby enemies; a follow-up headshot and a whole room of adds will be destroyed. For those taking a more tactical approach in endgame content may want to consider new perk Demoralize instead; headshot kills cause nearby targets to be weakened instead of Volatile.

Against a boss with smaller mobs, a Demoralize bow is incredibly handy especially on subclasses that don’t have access to weaken effects for extra damage.

Repulsor Brace is also a decent option in column one for Void overshields instead of Dragonfly explosions, but at the very least you’ve got to pick up a roll with Dragonfly and Destabilizing!

Anamnesis PvP god roll

Bowstring Agile Bowstring
Arrow Helical Fletching
Trait 1 Archer’s Tempo
Trait 2 Moving Target
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod Runneth Over (Origin Trait)
Draw Time/Accuracy (Masterwork)
Tension (Weapon Mod)

580 draw time bows are quite popular in the Crucible. Anamnesis not only fills this archetype, but it also has great perks and traits for PvP — starting with Archer’s Tempo.

Precision hits reduce the draw time of Anamnesis with Archer’s Tempo. For three seconds you’ll be slinging arrows downrange, so it’s best to combo Archer’s Tempo with some stability.

That’s where Moving Target comes in. While strafing you’ll get a boost to target acquisition when aiming down sights, meaning that second shot has a higher chance of hitting its mark. As you’ll need two headshots to confirm a kill with Anamnesis, extra acquisition on shot two is vital.

From here, boost you draw time any way you can: Tension is the weapon mod of choice here, or a fully-Masterworked Anamnesis with Draw Time achieves the same result.

How to get Anamnesis in Destiny 2

Anamnesis is part of the Episode: Heresy weapon pool. For the highest chance at getting one, run The Nether with a Tome of Want focused on episodic bow drops.

This bow will arrive with Act 2 of Episode: Heresy in mid-March. You can also get an Adept version of Anamnesis by completing higher-difficulty runs of The Nether; this is how you can land one with double perk drops.

You can’t craft Anamnesis. Enhanced perks can be unlocked by upgrading the weapon and leveling it up.
