Robot Monkey Brain’s upcoming strategy RPG Bounce Castle is celebrating spooky season with its first-ever Steam playtest. Running from October 29 through November 20, the limited-time “Graveyard Playtest” invites players to sling, bounce, and battle their way through haunted arenas filled with ghosts, skeletons, and necromancers — all wrapped in the game’s quirky, physics-driven combat.
Players can join the free playtest directly through the game’s Steam page and get an early taste of Bounce Castle’s chaotic blend of pinball-style precision and tactical strategy ahead of its full release in 2026.
A Tactical Treat in the Graveyard
The Graveyard Region introduces players to Bounce Castle’s unique combat loop, where every move is a mix of planning, precision, and chaos. Necromancers, Ghosts, and Skeletons each bring distinct attack patterns, forcing players to counter, ricochet, and adapt on the fly. The playtest’s interactive props, like giant mushrooms, gate flippers, and grave-launching traps, turn every battle into a physics-fueled spectacle.
Whether playing with a mouse and keyboard or full controller support on Steam Deck, the Graveyard Playtest offers a hauntingly fun preview of what’s to come.
Where Chaos Meets Strategy
Bounce Castle combines the careful tactics of a strategy RPG with the unpredictability of a pinball table. Players sling their heroes across hazard-filled arenas to protect Flow Crystals, the game’s key resource, while using dozens of abilities to outwit enemies. From explosive attacks like Gust to precision strikes such as Piercing Arrow, every move counts.
The game’s “tactics without the grid” approach ditches traditional turn-based maps for dynamic physics-based combat. Each ricochet or bounce can spell victory or chaos, depending on player ingenuity.
Build Your Team, Master the Bounce
Players can unlock new hero teams with distinct playstyles by earning in-game achievements and using unlock tokens to access new strategies. Between runs, gold coins collected during missions can be spent at the traveling merchant to upgrade abilities, tweak builds, and prepare for the next round of unpredictable mayhem.
As the studio teases, the full version of Bounce Castle will include multiple regions filled with traps, puzzles, boss battles, and plenty of surprises waiting beyond the Graveyard gates.
