Less than two years ago, we established the Bengaluru R&D center because of the outstanding technical talent in this city. Since then, we’ve become a vibrant team of over 100 engineers with multiple teams building innovative products and cutting-edge infrastructure to help enable our customers to leverage data and AI to succeed.
Here’s a glimpse into some of the amazing work from our Bengaluru teams:
- Our customers depend on tapping into multiple sources of data and leveraging Databricks in multiple applications. Teams in Bengaluru help address this need by building our Lakeflow Connect product, which enables customers to ingest data from many data sources. They also develop our SQL Drivers product, which enables customer and partner applications to connect into Databricks via Databricks SQL.
- We develop key features using LLMs to enable our customers to easily search and discover their assets, generate AI-driven insights, and monitor their workloads as well as a cutting next-generation unified Metrics Store that underpins our product.
- We build infrastructure that automates and simplifies the management and deployment of a complex set of microservices and infrastructure across over 100 regions spanning the three major clouds. This enables our global engineering teams to innovate fast and build solutions that work in a multicloud environment.
Massive growth, endless opportunities
We’re thrilled at the rapid growth in our teams in Bengaluru and the great products the team has already developed. We have ambitious plans to continue to hire the best and brightest. Over 60% of our engineers are IIT alumni, and more than 50% come from tech companies like Google, AWS, and Meta. India is a vital part of our future, and we’re committed to expanding our team and welcoming engineers to join us on this journey.
Our New Bengaluru Office
Our new 105,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art workspace at Bagmane Capital Park represents a significant investment in our India presence. This cutting-edge site co-locates our R&D team with several other functions and is designed to inspire innovation, collaboration, and connection. Our proximity to customers in India and throughout the region will also enable us to partner more closely and learn from each other. We are looking forward to continuing to grow the Databricks Bengaluru team as we hire additional amazing technical talent.
