Skybound Games and developer Nice Dream have announced Goodnight Universe, the spiritual successor to 2021’s BAFTA-winning Before Your Eyes. Revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, the narrative-driven experience launches on November 11, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Like Before Your Eyes, the game makes inventive use of a camera-based control scheme. On supported platforms, players can once again use their eyes to control the story, with the mechanic now expanded in new directions that tie into the game’s unusual perspective—you play as Isaac, a 6-month-old baby with emerging psychic powers.
A Star-Studded Cast for a Coming-of-Age (Baby) Sci-Fi Drama
While Before Your Eyes tugged at heartstrings through simple, emotionally resonant storytelling, Goodnight Universe dials up both the cast and the stakes. The confirmed voice talent includes:
- Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick, Thunderbolts) as Isaac
- Kerri Kenney-Silver (Reno 911)
- Al Madrigal (The Daily Show)
- Tessa Espinola (S.W.A.T.)
- Beau Bridges, Timothy Simons, and Sarah Burns in supporting roles
As Isaac, players navigate a story about family, identity, and the tension between being truly known and exploited. When a secretive tech company begins to take interest in Isaac’s extraordinary abilities, the emotional drama deepens, leading to a branching narrative shaped by what you see—and what you look away from.
Designed for Headphones, Cameras, and Tears
Goodnight Universe will support traditional controls, but is designed to be played with camera tracking and headphones for maximum immersion. According to the press notes, the story will take approximately 3–4 hours to complete, offering a tightly focused, emotionally impactful experience.
The game won the 2024 Tribeca Games Award and is being positioned as a bold next step for a studio known for pushing the boundaries of interactive storytelling.
