Horror Hit Brings 8-Player Co-op Terror to Consoles

Klabater and Valko Games have announced that Labyrinthine Console Edition will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 18th September 2025, marking the acclaimed co-op horror game’s console debut. The cult Steam favourite, known for its suffocating atmosphere and panic-inducing puzzles, will support cross-platform multiplayer across PC and consoles for the first time.

Eight Players, Endless Terror

Labyrinthine challenges up to eight players to navigate haunting hedge mazes crawling with over 30 unique monsters, each featuring distinct mechanics and behaviours. The game’s strength lies in its ability to create genuine tension whether players band together for safety or split up to cover more ground, with in-game voice chat adding crucial coordination capabilities.

The console edition retains all the features that built the game’s devoted following on Steam, including both Story Mode with six chapters uncovering the maze’s dark history, and Case Files Mode featuring procedurally generated mazes for endless replayability. This dual approach ensures both narrative-driven experiences and unlimited horror scenarios.

Enhanced Console Features

Cross-platform multiplayer represents a significant addition, allowing friends across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S to team up regardless of their preferred platform. This accessibility could dramatically expand the game’s player base and ensure consistent multiplayer lobbies.

The progression system includes over 200 unlockable cosmetics for character and gear personalisation, alongside a levelling system that unlocks 19 distinct maze types. This extensive customisation adds personal investment to the horror experience whilst providing long-term goals beyond mere survival.

Pre-order Incentives and Pricing

Labyrinthine Console Edition will be available digitally for £14.99, with a Supporter Edition priced at £17.99. Xbox pre-orders, which begin today, include access to the exclusive Werewolf Deluxe Edition at the standard price point.

The Xbox Werewolf Edition includes the base game plus exclusive content: a unique Werewolf costume set with green nameplate, Monster Costumes featuring Wendigo and Witch Doctor designs (unavailable separately for at least one year), and the Supporter Pack with additional cosmetics and music tracks.

Seven-Day Early Access

Players purchasing the console edition will receive seven-day early access, allowing gameplay to commence on 11th September 2025. This early access period could be crucial for building initial console communities and ironing out any platform-specific issues before the wider launch.

Technical and Accessibility Features

The console version maintains full VR support alongside traditional controller gameplay, ensuring accessibility across different play styles. Hosted player games eliminate concerns about server downtime, whilst the lobby browser with descriptive tags helps players find their preferred game types.

With its combination of atmospheric horror, cooperative gameplay, and extensive content, Labyrinthine Console Edition appears well-positioned to recreate its Steam success on console platforms whilst benefiting from cross-platform connectivity that could revitalise the existing player base.
