The third installment of the hugely successful Jurassic World Evolution management sim series has just been announced at Summer Game Fest and is set to arrive on October 21, 2025.
Many fans were expecting the reveal to happen around the release of the seventh movie in the Jurassic franchise next month, and they weren’t wrong. After many rumors and even confirmation via business chatter as far back as last year, the threequel has been unveiled with an in-game trailer you can watch below:
Specific details are scarce right now, but we’ve received confirmation via the official press release the main new features coming to the game are juvenile dinosaurs, enhanced behaviors, a comprehensive breeding system, a new epic global campaign, new park locations such as Japan and Hawaii, and new, much deeper building and terrain customization tools. Moreover, players will be able to share their custom creations and complete parks via Frontier Workshop, with full cross-platform support in the vein of Planet Coaster 2’s.
“Over 80 awe-inspiring prehistoric species, 75 of which allow players to breed and nurture family units” will be available at launch. We’ve also been told male and female dimorphism apply to most of these animals, something that diehard paleo-fans will surely appreciate. “Jeff Goldblum reprises his role as the iconic Dr. Ian Malcolm alongside a cast of new and returning characters,” it’s been confirmed as well. Will characters and species from Jurassic World: Rebirth show up too? Place your bets now.
On top of the first trailer, check out the debut screenshots, which highlight new settings and family units:
The game is now available to pre-order across all major digital distribution platforms. Players who pre-order will get “the Badlands Set at launch, which includes a collection of scenery items inspired by the original Jurassic Park film’s iconic dig site, five scenery blueprints from the Montana Badlands, and an exclusive Badlands ATV skin for the Maintenance Team.” The Definitive Edition, meanwhile, includes five extra animals (Protoceratops, Guanlong, Thanatosdrakon, and Concavenator) plus “a collection of scenery items inspired by the Clark County Campaign level and three exclusive ATV vehicle skins.”
Jurassic World Evolution 3 launches 21 October 2025 PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S for a suggested retail price of £49.99/$59.99/€59.99 for the Standard Edition and £64.99/$74.99/€74.99 for the Deluxe Edition.
UPDATE: Frontier Developments has disclosed via the game’s Steam page that “scientists’ avatars are created using generative AI.” This raises the questions of whether the previous game did the same and what type of data sets (internal or external) it’s using. Many potential customers and veteran players are now voicing their concerns. We’ll keep tabs on the latest updates on this matter.
