The Counter-Strike action doesn’t stop, as PGL Astana 2025 is right around the corner. The main highlight of the event is the surprising absence of the world’s top team, Team Vitality. With them out of the picture, the tournament becomes a golden opportunity for other contenders to prove who truly deserves to be called the best, at least for now.

PGL Astana 2025 will feature 16 participants. With Team Vitality’s and Team Falcons being absent, the match winner CS2 odds become spicier since teams have a much better chance of winning the event. Below is a comparison of the PGL Astana 2025 match winner odds from three top providers:

PGL Astana Predictions

Arguably the three best teams in CS2, Team Vitality, Team Falcons, and MOUZ, are not participating at this event. Here is how we can take advantage of the CS2 PGL Astana 2025 CS2 betting markets.

The Clear Favorites

The two most obvious picks to win the tournament outright are Team Spirit and NAVI. These are the two organizations that won the CS2 Majors in 2024, though both are in a drought of trophies since the calendar flipped to a new year.

With both teams’ current forms in question, Astana is arguably their best shot at winning an event this year. I’m hopeful these two experienced squads won’t throw away this perfect chance to add a trophy to their cabinets.

Title Contenders On A Good Day

A step down in the hierarchy are The MongolZ, Aurora, and G2 Esports. The Mongolian and Turkish squads have shown they have what it takes to go against the best in the world, but only in the Group Stages. They’ve historically struggled in Playoff matches, which is why a trophy has eluded them. However, if they get over their stage jitters or have a good day, they have a decent shot at stealing the trophy.

G2, on the other hand, have just lost their star player m0NESY. The European mix have not played in a tournament since the roster change, so it’s hard to expect what they’re capable of. Astana will be a great event to benchmark their current form before the Austin Major.

Teams To Keep An Eye On

Though I doubt they have what it takes to pull off an Astana trophy heist, here are some CS2 teams to look out for:

GamerLegion – The Dark Horses

GamerLegion has built a track record of defying expectations, and they could easily do it again here at PGL Astana. Their lineup has shown flashes of brilliance, and they could certainly make a deep run if they find their rhythm early.

FURIA – Going International

For the first time since the organization’s founding, FURIA have gone international, recruiting promising AWPer molodoy and giving YEKINDAR another shot at top-level competition. This lineup could either look really good, or really bad – no in between.

Ninjas in Pyjamas – A Fresh Start

Despite having their roster in full effect for months already, PGL Astana is the first time we’ll see the new iteration of Ninjas in Pyjamas led by Snappi. They’ve been grinding out online tournaments, so it’ll be interesting to see where they land.
