Primal Planet is a delightfully unique blend of Metroidvania platforming, survival crafting, and pixel-art storytelling, developed solo by Seethingswarm. It places you in the stone-age boots of a cave dweller fighting to protect his family against dinosaurs—and something far more otherworldly.
In this part of the walkthrough we go through the jungles of Blossomshade Forest with our family trying to find our way back to our village.
Reach your village
Once you are reunited with your family – and received 128 XP for it (wholesome) – go to the left and you will learn how to drop and pick up your daughter. Down to pick her up and down+roll to drop her. Keep going to the left and you will find the map chamber of Blossomshade Forest and camp nearby. But no wood, unfortunately.
The path is blocked off with big chunk of rock so turn back around and go up to find some wood. Head back down and light the camp and the braziers.

At the camp I noticed I had 4 skill points. I wanted to get Acrobat which allows me to double jump and costs 6 skill points. So I decided to save my points. You can choose to do what fits your playstyle.
Once you have the map, you will see that lighting the third pillar torch raises the big block of stone that was blocking your path earlier. Heading that way, you will see a waterfall blocking any way of taking a torch over to the other side. You need to light the brazier over there to lift the stone blocking the way. So head up.
Secret Area 1
There is a secret area near the small pool.
Head up and clear the area of Compys. In the next bit, drop down the pit to pick up some wood. Once you drop to the side, you will have returned to the starting area. Head to the right and pick up some “Flint”. Jump into the pool and swim around to find some more wood here.
Swim back to the right and pick up the wood and the flint from that side. Careful of the small Compys here. Then swim back up to where we picked up the wood earlier and head up. Move to the left and you will see a path leading upwards, blocked by thorns. Jump over the small ponds and the waterfall on the left and push on back to the first camp. Now light your spear and go around the top over to the other side to the blocked door with the brazier so you can avoid the waterfall extinguishing the torch.
Keep going left and you will find another retractable stone wall with a brazier that you can’t reach. Go up. Up on the left you will find a place where you can create a painting.
Secret Area 2
Right next to it is a secret area.
Go back out and up. A strange man in a skull mask will throw a torch at you. Pick it up and keep moving to the right and up. Break down the small wall and cross the pool. Eliminate the bugs here and pick up the wood. Jump into the pool on the left and at the end of the pool you can pick up some Orange herbs. Going back up you will find the path on the right is blocked off by a thorned vine. So head up. At the very top on the right is a camp site.
How to get double jump?
Light the camp and check your skill points. I have 7 at this time, so I got the Double Jump.
Craft a torch and go back down and clear the thorned path by throwing the torch at it.
But before you go this way, head back up and to the left. You will find a raptor here, so take care of it and you will find some flint. There is a long waterfall here that I couldn’t climb up even with double jump.
Anyway, head back down to the path you cleared earlier. After you swim to the right, you will find a mushroom that bounces you up for higher elevation. There is a secret here.
Secret Area 3
To the right is a blocked path. You need a torch to get through. With no way through, go up. On the right beyond the mushrooms is a pink herb. Come back to the middle and keep climbing. You will come across a swarm of insects – throw some fruit at them to distract them. You will see a new kind of dinosaur here (another raptor species?)
Keep going to the right to find Shadewind Valley.
