The Challenger Series for the South American League is set for the 7th of April 2025 and will officially end on the 27th of April 2025. The event is organized by Ubisoft and Blast and will be played online with South American teams competing in the hit game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege on PC. The prize money will be enough to offer the top teams as much as 50,000€ (approximately $53,765) each. The competition will apply to the ‘Open Qualifiers’ system whereby a slot is open to any team presently out of the closed league.
About the Tournament
In the Open Qualifiers, matches will be a “best of one” type. Afterward, the top eight teams from the Open Qualifiers will gain access to the Group Stage, where they will interact with eight invited teams. The Group Stage will be set off by a Swiss Stage. All the elimination matches will be in a best-of-three format, while the other matches will also witness the same number of games. The teams that end up in the top eight in the Group Stage will proceed to the Playoffs.
All matchups in the Playoffs will be held as a series of three games, with the first team to win two games advancing to the next round. The best two teams in the Playoffs will win themselves the participation rights in the South America League (SAL) for both the first and the second stages. The overall prize money of 50,000 euros will be split up in the following way: the winners will get 17,000 euros (which approximately equals 18,279.96 dollars).
The runners-up (second-place) team will be credited with 9,000 euros (which approximately is 9,677.63 dollars). Together, the third and fourth teams will be given 5 500 euros each (which approximately is 5,914.11 dollars). The fifth and sixth teams will take home 4,000 euros each (which approximately is 4,301.17 dollars). The teams ranked seven and eight will each receive 2 500 euros (which approximately is 2,688.23 dollars). The Challenger Series will present an invaluable opportunity to claim a slot in the highly regarded and prestigious South America League while vying with other talented teams for a massive prize pool.
