In Celebration of World Tetris Day, Red Bull and Tetris have teamed up to bring fans a high-flying Red Bull Tetris tournament and global qualifiers are now open.
A global tournament for anyone to take part in, Red Bull Tetris, has reopened qualifiers for 2025 in celebration of World Tetris Day. Tetris is a household name in video games, with over 500 million copies sold since its initial launch way back in 1984. In the 40 years since release, modifications have been added to the Tetris equation to enhance the traditional brick puzzle game and the Red Bull Tetris tournament looks to further break the mould. The latest title in the series followed suit. Tetris Effect: Connected unleashed a slew of modes for Tetris fans to play around with while still retaining the gameplay the 1984 original brings.
Red Bull Tetris introduces introduces special power-ups to alter the playing field, a Golden Tetrimino and fast-paced, time-limited rounds. With dynamic mechanics (including gravity shifts and speed boosts) every game is meant to bring a fresh new experience to fans as qualifiers to participate in the ultimate Tetris tournament. Any fan 18 years or older can enter the tournament.

How to Enter The Red Bull Tetris Tournament
Registration for the Global Qualifiers in Canada are now open until October 31, allowing hopeful competitors from more than 55 participating countries can put their skills to the test. Fans will have to the official website on mobile to compete for a qualifying spot at the top of their country’s leaderboard. The best scoring players on the leaderboards will then be invited to go head-to-head on PC in-person in a tense 1vs1 format at the National Final in Toronto on November 15. Winners will have a chance to
represent their country in Dubai in the final.
The winner of Canada’s National Final will gear up for the ultimate Tetris showdown, as top players from across the globe will meet in Dubai from December 11 until 13 at the Red Bull Tetris World Final. On the final day of competition on December 13th, the final game will take place live in the sky rendered by over 2,000 synchronized drones, all set against the backdrop of the Dubai Frame in a huge gaming spectacle.
