New Agents Coming In Update 1.1

Update 1.1 New Agents
Three New Agents

Zenless Zone Zero’s 17 Agents are going to have some company. Update 1.1 will introduce three new Agents to help you with your commissions.

Now admittedly, all three Agents won’t be obtainable at the same time. You can pull them from two separate Signal Search Events. These events typically last about three weeks each. So, save up your Encrypted Master Tapes and Polychrome for the Agents you want to pull.

Note that their Attack Types (Strike/Slash/Pierce) are still unknown.

Qingyi

Rarity: S

Faction: Criminal Investigation Special Response Team

Specialty: Stun

Damage Type: Electric

How To Get Qingyi: Untainted Jade Search Event (Starts on August 14)

Qingyi will share a role with Anby since they’re both Electric-Stun Agents. She’ll likely pair well with Seth Lowell and Zhu Yuan.

Qingyi uses a three-section staff that can snap and become one whole solid staff. Her combat style is actually closer to Nekomata than Anby. She uses rapid strikes that can hit multiple targets in a circle around her, unlike Anby who is more of a single-target Agent.

Her Ultimate is a massive AoE attack that deals tons of strikes, which means it’ll help build up Daze like there’s no tomorrow.

Jane Doe

Rarity: S

Faction: Unknown

Specialty: Anomaly

Damage Type: Physical

How To Get Jane Doe: (No Match Found) Signal Search Event (Starts on September 21)

Jane Doe is definitely the most interesting Agent out of the three. They presented her as the main villain of Undercover R&B, the ruthless leader of a violent militant group. They even teased her as a boss battle, so it’s exciting that you get to play as her.

She’s a Physical-Anomaly Agent, just like Piper Wheel, so it’ll be interesting to see their differences and similarities. Since her faction is still unknown, it’s hard to tell who she’ll pair well with apart from other Physical Agents.

Jane fights with weird weapons that look like a mix between a kunai and a karambit knife. She wields them with deadly efficiency, even attaching them to her feet and tail during combos for that extra unpredictability.

Similar to Qingyi, Jane’s Ultimate is an AoE attack. It doesn’t seem to land as many hits as Qingyi’s, but maybe it deals more damage or inflicts a debuff or status effect on your enemies.

Seth Lowell

Rarity: A

Faction: Criminal Investigation Special Response Team

Specialty: Defense

Damage Type: Electric

How To Get Seth Lowell: (No Match Found) Signal Search Event (Starts on September 21)

Seth will accompany Zhu Yuan and Qingyi in the Criminal Investigation Special Response team. It’s now possible to form a team with members from this faction and activate all their Additional Abilities.

Make sure to experiment using Qingyi and Seth with other Electric Agents too. Once they arrive, Electric becomes the most common element, with six Agents possessing it.

He fights with a shield and baton that can combine and become a giant sword.

Seth Lowell will be filling in a much-needed spot as a Defense Agent. The only other Defense Agent in the game is Ben Bigger, and he isn’t exactly amazing to play as. Hopefully, Seth will finally give players a good, tanky character they can swap to when things get dicey. HoYoverse, please buff Ben.

His Ultimate is a series of big forward vertical slashes with his sword, most likely useful against bosses.

Any Others?

Although these are the Agents guaranteed to come in Undercover R&B, a special mention goes to Hoshimi Miyabi, the leader of Section 6. They’ve teased her as a future agent and some people suspect she’ll drop in Update 1.1 as well.

New W-Engines In Update 1.1

New W-Engines
Three New W-Engines

Each of the three new Agents will have their own signature W-Engine that will suit their playstyles.

Sadly, there is little known about the stat buffs and bonus effects these new W-Engines will provide as of right now. All they’ve revealed are their names, appearances, rarities, and specialties.

You can acquire them through limited-time W-Engine Channels. These will start and expire in synch with the Agent Signal Search Events.

Ice-Jade Teapot

Rarity: S

Specialty: Stun

How To Get Ice-Jade Teapot: W-Engine Channel (Starts on August 14)

This is Qingyi’s signature W-Engine, so expect it to have buffs and effects that increase the amount of Daze an Agent inflicts.

Sharpened Stinger

Rarity: S

Specialty: Anomaly

How To Get Sharpened Stinger: W-Engine Channel (Starts on September 21)

Jane Doe is an Anomaly agent, so Sharpened Stinger might have effects that promote Anomaly Buildup (aka elemental status effects), buffs, and/or debuffs.

Peacekeeper – Specialized

Rarity: A

Specialty: Defense

How To Get Peacekeeper – Specialized: W-Engine Channel (Starts on September 21)

Seth’s W-Engine. Judging from the other Defense W-Engines, Peacekeeper – Specialized will likely boost an Agent’s resistance to damage or increase their Max HP.

New Bangboo In Update 1.1

New Bangboo
The New Bangboo

A new S-Rank Bangboo called Officer Cui will arrive in Update 1.1. Unfortunately, apart from its name and appearance, we don’t really have a ton of details on its stats right now.

What we do know is that Officer Cui is linked to the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. It will gain an additional buff if you have two or more members of that faction on your squad.

Other New Features

  • A new game mode known as Shiyu Defense – Special Operation was teased, but details on it are scarce at the moment.
  • They also teased a limited-time challenge located in the HIA Club known as Immersive Tactical Drill. They haven’t shown how it works yet though.
