We have a long and exciting Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Major tournament ahead, but two teams can already celebrate their impressive achievements. Starting the Austin Major with three wins on Stage 1 — it’s a nice emotional boost at the BLAST Austin Major 2025.
Sure, such a result can’t happen without proper effort. And there is the other side of this coin: two teams will lose Stage 1 finals. HEROIC vs FlyQuest and B8 vs Wildcard are Round 3 upper matches. Who can take this final step and add their team to the list of Stage 2 participants?
Going even deeper into the CS2 BLAST Austin Major 2025 competition, let’s not forget about two teams that will be eliminated from the event: and it also happens disturbingly early.

Both these teams are hands down the Stage 1 favorites and some of the most interesting qualified teams to follow.
Before this Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament, HEROIC showcased their level by eliminating FaZe from IEM Dallas 2025. That’s quite an achievement, even if the team did not make it further than the next match.
At the Austin Major itself, HEROIC defeated Chinggis Warriors in Round 1 — going 8:0 in the second half, which was the CT side on Anubis.
In Round 2, HEROIC won over NRG, and that is also a great result, considering the opponent roster having such seasoned players as Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella, who was in Team Liquid, and Alexander “br0” Bro, who left Astralis in late 2019.
HEROIC qualified for the CS2 esports Austin Major 2025 via European Qualifier: they finished 1st-2nd.

Somewhat ironically, many CS2 esports fans may recall the recent decent match by FlyQuest being also against FaZe Clan but at BLAST Rivals Spring 2025. FlyQuest lost back then, but they played amazingly, and the roster clearly has good potential.
In Round 1 of BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, FlyQuest defeated Fluxo, with 10:2 in the first half on Ancient. After switching to CT, Fluxo won some rounds, but not the match.
The next opponent for FlyQuest was BetBoom: 13:10 on Mirage.
To qualify for the Major, FLY won the Oceanic & Southeast Asian Qualifier.
B8 vs Wildcard: Map scores, details, and the result
Check out the details of the match between B8 and Wildcard here. The win means advancing to Stage 2 of the CS2 BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.
B8 1:1 Wildcard: Live score and recap

2, Dust II | B8 | B8 13:6 Wildcard |
3, Inferno | Decider | B8 0:0 Wildcard |

B8 sure is a young team, but you should not underestimate them! This roster defeated Astralis in the European qualifier to finish 6th and advance to the BLAST Major 2025.
In Rounds 1 and 2, B8 defeated Imperial Esports, after a pretty impressive comeback in Inferno, and OG, after a very close match on the same CS2 map.

Wildcard shined brightly during the qualification tournament: they were 1st-2nd in North America! And you may remember their performance at BLAST Rivals Spring 2025: they caused trouble for Vitality and defeated paiN: with almost double 13:0s.
Two eliminated teams
A bit after the Round 3 upper matches, four teams have a survival battle. Losers are just out of the CS2 esports tournament BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. The same official streams feature these matches.
Even for the winners of these two Counter-Strike 2 matches, every step can be fatal, as they remain in the elimination zone.
Losers of the upper matches, on the other hand, have only one step to take and two attempts to do so. Sure, no one wants to postpone this to Round 5.
The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 continues up to June 22. For more CS2 coverage stay tuned to esports.gg.
