The soundtrack for last year’s remake of Silent Hill 2 is heading to vinyl this year.
The vinyl release will arrive courtesy of Laced Records. Fans can grab either the 6-LP version including the entire 93-track soundtrack or a 2-LP version with 27 tracks sequenced by Silent Hill 2 composer Akira Yamaoka. Pre-orders can be made here. Pre-orders will begin shipping in October.
Yamaoka said this about working on the soundtrack:
“After nearly a quarter of a century, SILENT HILL 2 has been revived. I’ve poured a tremendous amount of thought and passion into this thing called SILENT HILL. Touching it again evoked a special emotion I had never felt before—as if I was touching the breath of God. Writing this music was a personal challenge, but I feel a deep sense of gratitude towards the people around the world who have loved this series for so long.”
The Silent Hill 2 remake earned five nominations at The Game Awards last year, including Best Action/Adventure Game. More information about the Silent Hill 2 remake can be found here. The game is out on the PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam).
