The Elder Scrolls Online just got a major injection of story, customization, and content with the launch of Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 and the free Update 46 base-game patch, now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Console players can now join their PC/Mac adventuring friends on the island of Solstice, where the mysterious Worm Cult is once again stirring trouble—this time behind the strange and magical Writhing Wall.
Seasons of the Worm Cult Begins
This two-part adventure celebrates 10 years of ESO by picking up threads from the game’s original main quest. In Part 1, players explore the Western Solstice zone—a lush, tropical island filled with danger, mystery, and of course, treasure. Expect new World Bosses, Delves, a Public Dungeon, and a brand-new Trial called The Ossein Cage to test your skills and teamwork.
Subclassing System: Over 3,000 New Build Combos!
With Update 46, all players—new and returning—can now dive into the Subclassing system. Mix and match skill lines from up to three of ESO’s seven classes to create a truly unique build. Whether you want to sling spells, heal allies, and dish out sword strikes all at once, the system is all about giving you more freedom to play your way.
Hero’s Return – Perfect for Returning Players
Been away from ESO for a while? The new Hero’s Return feature helps players reintegrate smoothly by detecting inactivity and offering a short refresher adventure. It’s optional but rewarding—designed to get you back in the action quickly and confidently.
Update 46 – Free Base Game Improvements
In addition to subclassing, Update 46 includes:
- A cleaner, more helpful in-game map
- Improved Wayshrine tutorials
- And other quality-of-life tweaks across the board
This is a free update for all players, even if you don’t pick up the new content pack.
