The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is out on Android globally. It’s a heavy, chapter-based narrative RPG that originally released on Windows in March 2021. Developed by Sever, a studio based in Tomsk, Russia, it’s getting published by 101XP on mobile.
It’s about patience, morality, and willpower
Set in the oppressive Blessed Arknian Empire, the game revolves around a commoner named Sir Brante. His life from birth to death is yours to shape. You begin with no title, no privilege, and very little chance.
The Twin Gods have declared that everyone must live according to their assigned Lot. The nobles lead, the clergy enforce the divine order, and the commoners suffer. But the world, ruled by ancient laws and merciless deities, still allows one thing: choice.
Sir Brante’s journey is split into chapters that mark his progress from childhood through adolescence and into adulthood. The game plays like an interactive storybook, borrowing the structure of classic gamebooks. Decisions shape your stats and relationships, which in turn open or close entire story paths.
The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante brings a bleak world
There’s no guarantee of reward in your moves and choices. You might sacrifice your principles to protect your family. Or rise through the ranks only to see the Empire crumble. You might join a secret society or become an inquisitor. Worst, you might just die.
Even if you die, don’t worry. The game has a resurrection system which lets you carry over your experience, rethink your path, and try again. With its branching routes, the game encourages replays and discover alternate outcomes.
The game deals with themes of grey morality, rigid class systems, and gods who look down with indifference. And in the middle of it all is a single person who might change everything. Or not. That’s the ambiguity that The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante brings.
Sensitivity, endurance, and determination are what shape who Brante becomes and how others see him. If you’re interested in writing his journey, check it out on the Google Play Store.
