The Canada Masters Toronto is the main event in the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), organized by Riot Games. The tournament follows a structured format with four qualifying events before the main stage. These qualifiers take place across different regions. The Americas qualifier starts on March 21, 2025, in Los Angeles at the Riot Games Arena. The China qualifier runs from March 13 to May 4, 2025, in Shanghai at the VCT CN Arena. March 26, 2025 sees the start of the EMEA qualifier in Berlin at Riot Games Arena. The Pacific qualifier kicks off on March 22, 2025, in Seoul at the Sangam Colosseum.

About the tournament

The tournament is an offline event with 12 teams competing for a spot in Masters Toronto. The format is two stages: Group Stage and Playoffs.

In the Group Stage, the 12 teams are divided into two groups, each containing six teams. The format follows a single round-robin system, where every team competes against the others in its group. All the games in this round are in a best of three format. The top four teams from each group advance to the Playoffs. The top teams from each group get a direct bye into the semifinals of the upper bracket. The second and third-placed teams proceed to Upper Bracket Round 1, while the fourth-placed teams start from Lower Bracket Round 1.

Playoffs is a double-elimination bracket meaning teams have a second chance even after losing a match. Most matches in this stage are Best of 3, except for the Lower Bracket Final and the Grand Final, which are played as Best of 5. The top three teams from the Playoffs secure qualification for Masters Toronto.

The event is sponsored by leading brands, including Red Bull, Secretlab, Verizon, iBUYPOWER, Samsung, Pulsar, TJ Sports, Riot Games, INZONE, Paysafecard, ZOWIE, Predator, and Intel.

Betting Markets (What Can You Bet On)

Betting on Valorant has many exciting markets for fans and bettors alike. From match winners to individual player performances there are plenty of ways to get involved. Understanding these odds and betting options really ups the excitement and makes every single match even more thrilling and rewarding.

Match Winner

This is the most straightforward bet where you predict which team will win a specific match. It’s a popular choice for beginners and seasoned bettors alike, as it involves simply picking the team you believe will come out on top.

Map Winner

Valorant matches are played across multiple maps, and you can bet on the winner of each individual map. This type of bet adds an extra layer of excitement, as you can place wagers on each map within a single match.

Total Rounds (Over/Under)

Here you bet on the total number of rounds in a match, over or under a certain number. This requires a good understanding of the team’s play style and strategy.

Handicap Betting

Handicap betting is where one team is given a virtual advantage or disadvantage to level the playing field. For example if a team is heavily favoured to win a handicap bet might require them to win by a certain margin for the bet to pay out.

First Blood

Bet on which team will get the first kill in a match. A quick and fun market that’s often decided within the first few minutes of the game.

Pistol Round Winner

The match starts with a pistol round and you can bet on which team will win this initial round. The pistol round is crucial as it sets the tone for the rest of the match.

Outright Winner

Bet on the overall winner of a tournament or league. A long term bet that requires consideration of the teams’ performances throughout the competition.

Player Performance Props

Bets on individual player performances such as number of kills, assists or headshots a player will get in a match. A great way to get involved on a more granular level.

Team Performance Props

Similar to player props but for team statistics such as total kills, rounds won or objectives secured by a team. Allows for more strategic betting based on team dynamics.

Special Bets

These are unique and varied bets that can include anything from predicting whether a match will go into overtime to specific in-game events like the number of knife kills. Special wagers add a real twist of extra excitement and a touch of unpredictability too.
